Combining a canoe trip up the lovely Kowie River and the voluntary tramping trail through indigenous forest 21 km up stream. This nature conservation trail can be tackled by anyone from 12 to 70 years and requires no special skills. Of course it does need a certain amount of stamina and good weather. Younger children can ride with an adult. Six double canoes are available. Canoeists sleep in simple wooden four roomed chalets at Horseshoe Bend, where fresh water and braai wood is provided.
